After Acceptance
You’re in! Now What?
Hey, you made it! Welcome. But before we celebrate, have a look at what’s next on your agenda:

Download the Concordia Arrival Checklist

In the checklist you will find information on:

  • Immigration
  • Housing
  • Orientation
  • Payments
  • Traveling in the US

Make a tuition deposit

Upon acceptance to the University, a $300 nonrefundable tuition deposit is required. This is not an additional fee, but a payment that secures your spot at the University and is put towards your tuition upon arrival. This deposit is not refundable and expires after 1 calendar year. Pay tuition deposit.

Fill out your I-20 documents

After you have been admitted to Concordia as an International student, please review the below steps to apply for an F1 or J1 VISA.

  • F1 Students: Students no longer need to have Concordia mail them a physical copy of their I-20, the digital F1 I-20 is sufficient for your VISA interview
  • J1 Students: Concordia will mail your DS-2019 form within the week of receiving all pertinent information

If you would like Concordia to mail you a physical F1 I-20 document, please follow these directions. If you have questions, please email cic@cuw.edu to reach our Office of International Student Services.

Pay your SEVIS (Student/Exchange Visitor Information System) payment

You can pay your SEVIS online with a credit or debit card, send a check or money order in the post, or use Western Union Quick Pay.

Be sure to pay your fee at least three days before scheduling your visa interview. And please note if your payment hasn’t gone through, you might be turned away from your visa interview. Visit SEVIS online for more information.

Schedule your visa appointment

First, visit U.S. Visa Appointment & Processing Wait Times online to check the current appointment wait time. Then, schedule your appointment by following these steps:

1. Go to www.usembassy.gov
2. Select your world region
3. Select your country of residence or the country in which you will attend a visa interview
4. Select “Non-Immigrant Visas”
5. Select “Schedule a Visa Interview”

Come to the U.S.!

You may enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the start date listed on your I-20. If you can’t make it to the U.S. by your start date, please contact the Office of International Student Services and let them know why you’re going to be late. If you can’t make it to the U.S. this semester, you’ll need to fill out the I-20 Deferral Request Form and submit a $50 deferral request fee. This fee covers the cost of sending you a new I-20.
