Concordia’s global footprint: SGA revamps the flag hallway

One of the more iconic spaces on the Concordia University Wisconsin campus has received a makeover thanks to the efforts of the Student Government Association. Michelle Wolf, SGA chief academic officer, at the Feb. 6 flag hallway unveiling: “It shows that little Concordia is leaving a global footprint all around the world.” The “flag hallway,” which connects lower Rincker to The Nest, now features updated flags encased in protective frames that are labeled with the representative country. These Concordians advanced to the next round of Foxconn’s Smart Cities—Smart Futures competition

Two teams from Concordia University Wisconsin are among the 88 first-round winners of Foxconn’s Smart Cities—Smart Futures competition. One of the teams, made up of CUW nursing staff member Mary Dittmar, Associate Professor of Nursing Dawn Kuerschner, and two sophomore computer science students, Austin Winkler and Blaine Andrada, entered the competition with a pitch for a virtual reality application to teach undergraduate nursing students to learn fundamental nursing skills. Tianhua College department head takes on life of a Concordia University undergraduate

With an advanced academic degree already under her belt, Min Liu is far from a typical undergraduate student. Yet Liu has decided to step into the shoes of a Concordia University Wisconsin traditional undergraduate student for a full academic semester, leaving her husband and two young children in China and taking up residence in Heidelberg Hall on Concordia’s Mequon campus, just as an incoming student would do. Concordia’s School of Pharmacy hosts leaders of Japanese pharmacy school

Concordia University Wisconsin’s School of Pharmacy took another formative step last week in furthering its partnership with a Japanese institution of higher education, Matsuyama University, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Concordia now offers scholarships for alumni and other post-traditional learners

Concordia University Wisconsin announced today an unprecedented level of financial support for adult and post-traditional learners who wish to further their education at a high-value Christian university. Four new scholarship programs have been made available for the 2018-19 academic year, including a first-ever scholarship for all Concordia University Wisconsin and Ann Arbor alumni. Concordia home to international culture this summer

The World Cup Soccer Tournament wasn't the only international event this summer, as Concordia University Wisconsin again hosted high school students from Japan and Uruguay for intensive English and Culture Programs, as well as science camps in the university's environmental center. For the third successive year, a group of international students from Keii High School in Chiba, Japan spent nine days putting freshwater/energy study to the test with their American partners. Concordia University Wisconsin has notched a spot among the top Christian and academic schools in the nation, as designated by the “Colleges of Distinction” and “Colleges of Christian Distinction” guidebooks for 2018. Inaugural African American Female institute promotes personal growth in teens

Kennedy Hill wasn’t sure what to expect when she signed up, at her superintendent’s prompting, for the inaugural African American Female Initiative on Concordia University Wisconsin’s campus. The rising high school freshman knew the experience was meant to help African American girls like herself succeed in high school and eventually attend college, but she wasn’t totally clear on the details of how that would be accomplished.
